2010 Mission Opportunities

Assisted Living Ministry:  FRC conducts services at these facilities on Sunday afternoons at 3:00.  Throughout the year we also conduct special projects, including on Christmas Day giving gifts and sharing time with the residents. The schedule for each facility is:

• Tara Plantation:  First, third and fifth Sunday afternoon each month.
• The Oaks:  Second Sunday afternoon each month.
• Laurel Creek:  Fourth Sunday afternoon each month.

Whirlwind Missions:  Partnering with the North American Mission Board and Whirlwind Missions, we have opportunity to impact internationals living in apartments in and around the Doraville, Georgia area.  Projects are conducted on Saturday mornings, 9:00 to 12:00 Noon.  Individuals and classes are encouraged to get involved in this mission opportunity.  College/Career Project April 10, 2010.  No cost.  Call the Missions Office for additional information.

Eagle Ranch:  We provide meals once a month to the Peace and Hope Homes at Eagle Ranch in Flowery Branch, GA.  We also lead special events throughout the year, such as pancake breakfast, fishing tournament, bonfire, Thanksgiving meal, Christmas gifts, etc.  Special events usually take place on Saturdays.  No cost.  Call the Missions Office for additional information.

Disaster Relief:  FRC partners with the North American Mission Board and the Georgia Baptist Convention to respond to national and local disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes and floods.  Volunteers help in areas such as food preparation and service, debris clean-up and removal, servicing equipment and providing drivers to move equipment to needed locations. Volunteers are also available to work with the Forsyth County Sheriff Department when there is a local need.  Call the Missions Office for additional information.

Families on Mission:  Partnering with the North American Mission Board, a group of FRC families will participate in the Families On Mission project in Blue Ridge, GA, June 6-11, 2010.    Cost is $250.00 per person.  Children must have completed Kindergarten prior to the summer.  Call the Missions Office for additional details.

World Changers:  Partnering with the North American Mission Board our students will be participating in this mission project in Chattanooga, TN, July 19-24, 2010.  Call the Student Ministry Office for details and costs.

India:  Partnering with Hopegivers International, we will be re-visiting the five Redeemer Churches located in Chennai, Kerala, Mumbai, Kolkata and Ratlam.  We will conduct teaching sessions during the day and lead in worship services at night.  Date is March 20 – April 2, 2010..  Approximate cost is $3,500.00.  Call the Missions Office for additional details. 

South Africa:  Partnering with the International Mission Board, we will conduct a training event for local pastors and church members during the day and lead an evangelistic meeting each evening.  Dates are August 28 – September 5, 2010.  Approximate cost is $1,800.00.  Call the Missions Office for additional information. 

Moldova:  Partnering with Operation Mobilization and Baptist Union of Moldova, we will be dedicating a new Redeemer Church and doing various outreach projects in that church’s community.  Date is October 8-16, 2010.  Approximate cost is $1,800.00.  Call the Missions Office for additional details. 

Uruguay:  Partnering with Operation Mobilization, we will be conducting various outreach projects with our Redeemer Churches.  Date is November 12, 2010.  Approximate cost is $1,900.00.  Call the Missions Office for additional details.
