Praise & Worship Pastor

The purpose of the music that God gives us is to exalt His Name and proclaim His glory, to declare our love and adoration for Him, and to celebrate His presence.  Each Sunday as the church gathers the First Redeemer Music Ministry leads in a blended style of worship incorporating songs that are both modern and traditional.  Any person attending a worship service at First Redeemer will find music that is relevant.
How Can I join the Choir?
This is a perfect time for you to join with our brand new music suite! You may like to sit in on a choir rehearsal as our guest and see if it’s for you. Feel free to call the music offices at 678-513-9417 for information about becoming a member of the choir. To join the choir you first need to become a member of First Redeemer Church. When you are ready to join the choir let us know and we will have a robe, folder and seat waiting for you.
Is the choir just for great musicians?
No.  The Redeemer Choir is a place for people who love to sing and those who want to worship God.  No audition is necessary at this time. The choir is made up of both people who can and can’t read music. Together we make music and praise to God as we blend our voices as one. The choir is a wonderful group of loving people who are enjoying the presence of God together.  Your effectiveness in choir will depend on your heart as much as your voice.
What is the time commitment?
We rehearse on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 in the Choir Room.  On Sunday mornings you will need to be in the Choir Room by 8:45 to get ready for the first worship service.  We gather at 10:30 in the Choir Room for the second worship service. You are only asked to sing in one of these services but you can sing in both if you choose. At Christmas and other times we perform special programs that require more rehearsal and performance time.  For those who want to sing in the choir but work on Wednesday we have developed a way for you to receive all rehearsal music via the choir web page. Ask the music secretary about this option if you are someone who travels regularly.
How can I make joining the choir go smoothly?
First of all, be faithful.  Don't get discouraged if at first everything seems to be moving fast.  You will catch on quickly and feel right at home in no time at all.  Next, be friendly.  Take it upon yourself to get to know the people around you.  It's the relationships in choir that make it fun.  Thirdly, be prayerful.  Ask God to reveal Himself to you in the music.  Pray that God will deepen your love for Him and help you to worship Him as never before.
