Missions

At First Redeemer Church we are actively involved in fulfilling the Great Commission both across the street and around the world.  Come join us in the exciting adventure of making Christ known among the nations.

At the heart of our mission strategy is church planting.  On-going international projects are taking place in India, Nepal, Myanmar, South Asia, Moldova, Hungary, Egypt, Ukraine, Russia, North Africa, South Africa,  and Uruguay . Description:  Backpacks for Kids is a mission activity where our church members provide backpacks filled with school supplies for several hundred needy children in our area.  Volunteers will pack and deliver the backpacks to selected area schools.
When:  The week before school starts

Description:  Partnering with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child, church members fill supplied shoeboxes with toys and other items that will be shipped to children around the world.

Description:  On Christmas Eve day, volunteers conduct services and provide Christmas gifts to the residents at various area Assisted Living communities.

Description: Partnering with There’s Hope For The Hungry, Love North Georgia is an on-going ministry to feed the hungry in north Georgia and also to share the Good News of Jesus with every person receiving a box of food.

Description: Partnering with the North American Mission Board, volunteers provide help with shower trailers, clean-up trailers, mobile food kitchens, etc., in natural disaster areas across the U.S.
When: When natural disaster occurs and volunteers are needed.

Description: Partnering with Hopegivers International, we will dedicate twenty new fresh water wells provided by the children of First Redeemer Church’s 2022 VBS.  We will also participate in the Emmanuel Theological Seminary’s graduation and Emmanuel’s National Pastors’ Conference.

• Assisted Living: We partner with several Assisted Living communities in the Cumming area, helping to provide social and spiritual interaction with the residents.

• Disaster Relief: Partnering with the North American Mission Board, we assist in various ways when there has been a major disaster somewhere within the United States. For more: www.namb.net/dr

• Operation Christmas Child: Volunteers process over 5000 shoeboxes of Christmas toys for children.  They are then distributed across the world through the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Shoebox Outreach.

• Backpacks for Kids: First Redeemer members fill backpacks with school supplies and other necessaries for kids in Forsyth County who cannot afford to have the basics as they start back to school in the Fall.

 • Assisted Living Christmas Gifts:  First Redeemer volunteers disperse across Forsyth County to bring Christmas joy to several Assisted Living Homes.  Teams provide refreshments, gifts, conversation, and carols for residents of each community.
