Dear Redeemer Family,
Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest moments in American history. On September 11, 2001, almost 3,000 Americans lost their lives when Islamic terrorists flew airplanes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. With one voice, our nation collectively vowed to never forget that day. However, human memory naturally wanes and the pains of loss subside. Especially in light of recent events, it seems that many have already forgotten. So, on this 20th anniversary of 9/11, I pray that we will all remember:
  • The families of those who lost their lives that day.
  • The reality of the evil that is still actively at work (and flourishing) in our world.
  • The devastating images of evil’s handiwork.
  • The selfless and heroic efforts of our first responders.
  • How our nation turned to God in a time of desperation with a resurgence in corporate worship.
  • That there is far more that unites us than divides us.
Even painful memories can serve us well; pray that America never forgets.
Wednesday Nights at Redeemer
On September 15, we launch a brand-new year of Wednesday night programming! For our kids, a new year of AWANA and Children’s Choir begins that evening. For more information and to register, click here. Also on September 15, an exceptional schedule of LIFE Groups kicks off for the fall. Classes for adults include Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, Grief Share, and many exceptional Bible studies. Check out the full lineup and register here.
Overflow Women’s Ministry
On Thursday, September 16, our weekly Overflow Bible Study for Women begins a brand-new study entitled, Take Courage: A Study of Haggai by Jennifer Rothschild. Overflow meets each Thursday at 9:30 AM in the Student and Family Center Banquet Hall. Childcare is available for birth through preschool. You can register here.
Lunch with the Pastor – This Sunday
If you’re new to Redeemer and would like more information about who we are and what we do, you are invited to Lunch with the Pastor this Sunday at 12:15 PM in the banquet hall. 25th Anniversary – Prayer and the Bible
To mark our church’s 25th Anniversary, our church family is reaffirming its love for and commitment to prayer and God’s Word. Every day during September, many are fasting and praying for our church, community, and country. Also, from September 26 through September 29, we will be reading the Bible around the clock in the sanctuary. If you’d like to participate in either of these efforts, you can sign up here.
We are really excited about this coming Sunday…I’ll see you in church!
