Kingdom Citizens “live good lives” as earthly citizens

Kingdom Citizens have healthy relationships

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. (1 Peter 3:8)

Keys to Healthy Relationships
1 Peter 3:9-10 (NIV2011)
9  Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Play better than “fair
  • Justice, Industry, Education
Example: Jesus’ relationship with us

Titus 3:4-7 (NIV2011)
4  But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5  he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6  whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7  so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

1 Peter 3:10
10  “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.

Speak wisely

James 3:5-6 (NIV2011)

…the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body.

James 1:19-20 (NIV2011)
19  My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20  because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Example: Boulder into lake

1 Peter 3:15 (NIV2011)
15  But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Trust in Christ alone
Example: Need for identity
